julie jacks memorial scholarship fund
The Julie Jacks Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to memorialize the name of a courageous Chattanooga Police Officer. Julie tragically lost her life in the line of duty on May 6, 2002 , while valiantly serving and protecting the citizens of Chattanooga and Hamilton County . This scholarship will be awarded annually to a qualifying student whose parent or guardian is in good standing as a police officer with the Chattanooga Police Department. In the absence of a qualified applicant from this source, consideration shall be given to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department and all municipal law enforcement agencies within Hamilton County . Students shall be selected on the basis of academic ability and financial need .
— Eligibility —
Applicant must be a dependent child of an eligible City of Chattanooga Police officer
Applicant must not be older than 23 years old upon the application deadline
Applicant must be a graduating high school senior planning to attend a regionally accredited, non-proprietary, technical, community or four year college/university in the next academic year or be a full-time (carrying at least 12 semester hours) college student attending a regionally accredited, non-proprietary, technical, community or four year college/university anticipating the continuation of study in the next academic year
Applicant must have a high school or college grade point average of at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

Complete the Julie Jacks Memorial Scholarship application in black or blue ink and include all requested supplemental information.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to scholarship application deadline. This form is available from high school guidance counselors, local college, and online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
Application packet must be received (not postmarked) in the office of the following address by Friday, April 11, 2008 :
